Rev. Kenny Peters
Senior Pastor
Our Senior Pastor, Rev. Kenny Peters, joined the Pinecrest Church family on March 8, 2009, as the Associate Pastor and Minister of Music. He was called to be our Senior Pastor on March 26, 2023. Kenny has been in ministry for over 30 years and is a native of Crawford County, Georgia. He holds a B.A. in Voice and a B.M. in Music Education from Brewton-Parker College, an M.A. in Biblical Counseling, and an M.Div. from Luther Rice University and Seminary. He earned his Th.M. in Theology & Church History from the Liberty University School of Divinity.

Kenny is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) and The American Society of Church History. He is an Adjunct Professor at Brewton-Parker College where he teaches classes for the Georgia Baptist Bible Institute's program in Cordele. Kenny also serves on the Board of Trustees and is the past president of the National Alumni Board of Brewton-Parker College. He has taught seminary classes in Peru in partnership with New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Kenny has been on mission trips to Europe, Africa and South America. Kenny & his wife, Misty, have been married since 1996, and they have two children - Alannah and Walker. Misty is from Metter, GA, and holds an ASN/R.N. Degree from Darton State College, a BSN from the Liberty University School of Nursing and an MS in Healthcare Administration from SNHU. She is the Surgical Practices Operations Administrator for Crisp Regional Health Services.
Josh McMillan
Associate Pastor of Families
Josh McMillan is our Associate Pastor of Families. He leads our discipleship ministries for students of all ages, from nursery to high school.

Josh joined the Pinecrest family on January 21, 2024. He is originally from Tifton GA and has been married to Jena since October 2021. Josh and Jena have a one year old son named James. Jena is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Liberty University.

Josh has a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Georgia. During his time in Athens, he served as a Discipleship Apprentice at Watkinsville First Baptist Church. Josh is working now on his Master of Divinity degree in Christian Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Before moving back to the South GA area, Josh served as a Small Group Apprentice at The Summit Church in Raleigh, NC. He has also served as an Intern at Northside Baptist Church in Tifton, GA and was mentored by the late Dr. Fred Evers, whom Josh counts as inspiration for ministry.

Josh loves spending time with his family and their dog Raleigh. He is a die-hard Atlanta Braves baseball and Georgia Bulldog fan. He is an avid reader, and loves being around sports.
Karen Mathis
Office Manager
Mrs. Karen Mathis has managed our church office and served as the church secretary since 2000. During her lengthy tenure, she has worked with four Senior Pastors and a host of other staff members. She is responsible for managing the office, handling contributions and serves as our financial secretary. She oversees all publications, the church calendar, day-to-day operations and is the friendly and helpful face of our ministries. We also say that she is the guardian of the "book with all the answers." In short, she's the glue that keeps the Pinecrest office together.

Prior to her longstanding service at Pinecrest, Karen worked in the Crisp County School System. She is a graduate of South Georgia Technical College.
​
Karen is a proud mother and grandmother and an active member of Wenona Baptist Church. She is a cancer survivor and works with the Crisp County Relay for Life. In her "spare time," she is an avid crocheter and an excellent cook.
